Non-Profit That Feeds People In Need
OUR MISSION
BABA'S ASHRAM FED EVERYONE
Baba Neem Karoli was a much-beloved Indian saddhu whose teachings were quite simple. He told his devotees to "Love, serve and feed people," and said, "God comes to the hungry as food."
His ashram fed everyone who came to visit, and although he left his body in 1973, devotees worldwide still honor and worship him. The founders of this organization - from New Zealand, India and the U.S. - are among those devotees, and were inspired to live his teachings.
We know that when people aren't scrambling to find scraps to eat life feels a little less stressful. They can even think a bit about their children's future. They can dare to dream. With full bellies, everyone can stay healthier and life is a little easier. Our feed kits can help.
Baba's Food Kits Mean A Family Can Eat Well
Each kit costs $14. It includes wheat flour for making chapatis, rice and lentils, potatoes and green vegetables, sugar, cooking oil, turmeric, red chili and when available, fresh fruit like mangoes or bananas. Kits also provide washing detergent and soap. And there are always cookies as a treat for the children.
It's a remarkable number: Only $14 US buys all that food for a hungry family for at least a week. And of course, if you choose, there are other kits that will feed families for longer stretches of time.
In India, people greet each other with the word "Namaste," which is a greeting of respect, or honoring, the other. It can also be translated as "the Sacred in me recognizes the Sacred in you."
Please join us in feeding the hungry people of Northern India.
Namaste.
Here's How You Can Help
Donate Money. Any amount helps.
All money received, except for some basic administration and delivery fees, goes directly to food.
Baba’s Feed Project is run by its three board members who all work on a volunteer basis.
All clothing and other soft goods are donated to Baba’s Feed Project. 100% of your donation goes to feeding people.
DONATE A FOOD KIT
Each kit has 13 different food items. Each is a staple that will nourish and sustain a family for at least a week. And all for $14.00.
Donate a warmth kit
Northern India can get unpleasantly cold in the winter. Most of the people we serve wear cotton clothing and flipflops without socks. There are several warmth kits to choose from to keep families warm for the winter.
Donate a Kids' Cool Kit
In April of 2022, the temperature in Northern India was 113 degrees. A Kids Cool Kit will provide children with shorts, tee shirts, and flip flops so they can stay comfortable in such brutal heat.
A village where your donations provided cool clothes for hot weather for all the children. Thank you!
