Get to know the dedicated team behind Baba’s Feed Project! Pintu, one of the hearts behind our mission, has been a driving force in our efforts to serve families in need. His journey, inspired by the teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, is a testament to the power of selfless service.
Through his daily work, Pintu has touched countless lives, bringing food, warmth, and compassion to those who need it most. Here’s a closer look at Pintu’s story, his inspiration, and the experiences that shape his journey with Baba’s Feed Project.
What is your background?
I was born into a very normal family and started working as a driver when I was 19 years old. Today, I continue to drive and work with Baba’s Feed Project, where I feel blessed to serve others.
What inspired you to join Baba’s Feed Project, and how has your journey been so far?
When COVID started and people were locked down at home, we began this project. My inspiration comes from Neem Karoli Baba, who said, “Feed people.” His teachings are the reason I am here. The journey has been both inspiring and fulfilling.
Can you share a memorable experience or story from your time with the project?
Every time we deliver supplies, it’s memorable, but one experience from last winter stands out. We were distributing food kits and warm clothes, and we came across a man who didn’t have a blanket to sleep with. In this world, some people have five or ten blankets, while others don’t have even one. Seeing the happiness in people when we supply them with the things they need is powerful and amazing.
How do you incorporate the teachings of Baba Neem Karoli into your daily work?
Maharajji’s teachings are a guiding force in my life. I try to live by them every day. Baba said, “Love everyone, tell the truth, feed people.” These teachings are simple but hard to practice fully. I see myself as a student, learning every day to embrace them more deeply.
What’s a fun or unexpected hobby you have outside of your work with Baba’s Feed Project?
Every morning, before sunrise, I go for a walk. When I return, the sun rises, and it’s such a powerful and grounding experience for me.
What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about yourself through your work with BFP?
I never thought I’d be doing this work—delivering food kits and helping families. I feel like it’s all by the grace of Neem Karoli Baba. The most surprising thing is seeing how BFP brings happiness to so many people’s lives.
What’s your favorite memory from your time working with the BFP team?
One of my favorite memories is from 2022 when we supplied kits together in the slums. After that, we went to Rishikesh, Vrindavan, Varanasi, and Kainchi Dham. It was an amazing, life-changing experience to be with the team and serve together.
If you had to describe your experience with Baba’s Feed Project in a single sentence, what would it be?
Working with BFP is about learning and serving, guided by the teachings of Neem Karoli Baba.
